The Monastery of Saint Thomas
The call to contemplative Christianity is not an easy one. Those who answer it set themselves to the arduous task of self-reformation through rigorous study and practice, learned through the teachings of monks and nuns and the writings of ancient Christian mystics, often in isolation from family and friends. Those who are dedicated can spend hours every day in meditation, prayer, liturgy, and study. Why do they come? Indeed, how do they find their way to the door at all?

Our Story
Welcome to the "Virtual Monastery" of the Gnostic Catholic Union, a global online monastery.
We are an inclusive non-profit society that encourages a deepening of contemplative practice based on the Gnostic Christian Wisdom lineage, while also welcoming and being supportive of other spiritual traditions.
We will offer resources, recordings, and events led by our staff and other distinguished wisdom teachers and leaders. On this website, you will find instructional and inspirational materials, supportive of the contemplative life.
This site enables you to connect with other Monastery of St. Thomas members, find books and podcasts about the contemplative life, and purchase materials through our bookstore, and even create family and small group worship opportunities.
